Loose floor boards

When you have a loose floor board in your room it can be the most annoying thing especially when you come to sanding and renovating. The flooring in the above picture of a pine floor board approximately 2 meters long should have at least 8-10 nails holding it down.
This board lifted had 2. On re-fixing the floor board it’s essential you either make a mark with a pencil or tack a nail on the board either side where it’s safe to nail on the lifted board. It’s very important to check carefully as you can often have a water / gas pipe or electric wires close to the surface or large chunks of wood missing where you can’t nail.
Also choose the right nails as either too short it won’t be secure or too long may split the wood.
